I just hooked up a MacBook pro laptop, and connected a usb mouse. The scroll speed was devastatingly slow so i wanted to change the settings under System Prefs. The main window loads properly, as does all other sections under SP, but when i try and load the keyboard and mouse section it just freezes up. The title bar says "Loading Keyboard and Mouse..." but it just hangs there. I tried unplugging the mouse and just using the touch pad, as well as i tried plugging in a 'mighty mouse', but neither changes fixed the problem.
Does anyone know what this problem could be? Is there any way to get into the keyboard and mouse settings without having to load it through the main SP panel?

Have you got the system restore disks that came with your Mac? If so, repair your System. Check too your Applications folder to see if SysPrefs.app is still there.
