Awesome, could you provide a link to where you found this info? So basically macs that can boot a 64-bit kernel (same as ML).

imac 2008

I'm currently running it on my 2008 iMac. No lag.. feels responsive.. I possibly don't benefits from all the features since they did special optimization for Haswell has well! (pun intended).

Always appreciate MR humor. :D

Nice to see the same set of machines supported. Even ML runs fine on "unsupported machines" so although the new features are nice, that also seems to mean that they are doing some optimization in the code etc to streamline the way the OS works underneath with subsequent OS releases. Wish they would cut out the "artificial obsolescence" of older machines that would also run it fine, however I also realize they run a business and it behooves them to do so.

Thank You to the poster who posted the System Requirements.

I do hope that list stays as is.

Minimum RAM is definitely the same as Mountain Lion (2GB) because Mavericks installed fine on my baseline 2011 MacBook Air. :D

Well the test machines in the live stream, well the specs listed in the small text on the OS X page were on 4GB.

My understanding with ML is that it can run on 2 gb of RAM, but not as well as with 4 or 8 gb.

I currently have 2 gb and was planning to upgrade to ML after putting in more RAM. Not sure about "Sea Lion" on my 2009 MBP.

Anyone have an early 2009 iMac with only 2GB of ram running Mavericks? Curious to see if it will have any improvements over Mountain Lion. 10.8 is too laggy for me on it so I'm back to Snow Leopard until further notice.

Have you considered upgrading your anemic quantity of ram to 8 gb first?
