I upgraded my 2008 Macbook Unibody to Ventura using OCLP and noticed in System Settings that switching between settings categories (or whatever they're supposed to be called) is extremely slow…several seconds.
Well…it's an unsupported 2008 machine and I get that but what I think is being amplified is the fact that System Settings lags. Using the app on my Mac Studio there's definitely a lag as compared to other features. If menus behaved like that we'd all be screaming.
I get the feeling that every setting is its own app and I'm waiting for it to start.
Also…defaulting to "Appearance", the eleventh item in the sidebar…and not even the first thing alphabetically, is just plain annoying.
