Outside of Atlanta in Powder Springs. LTE wins. I tried on dedicated 5G.

My experience was exactly the opposite...I'm getting up to 7x faster download and upload speeds on TMo's low band 5G vs my SE on LTE.

Curious....did you have to get an actual 5g SIM card from T-Mobile?
ya know, I went to the TMo store last Saturday and told them I needed a new one. I'm guessing that's what they gave me. It doesn't say 5G on it. How would I tell?

Cell service has always been so variable, 5G in its infancy isn’t going to help that. T-Mobile is also rushing to get 5G online while also ingesting all of Sprint’s users and their infrastructure, so I’m not surprised some people in some areas are seeing worse 5G than LTE, and others are seeing better. I’d say if you’re seeing worse 5G than LTE, turn off your 5G radio in the settings and enjoy the extra battery life.

I’m going to tweet them since I can’t message them in the app. I’ll let you know.
I got a line that were still building out our 5G even though they avoided it was turned on. Coverage map at my location is solid 5G. So who knows.

Im in Miami and seem to have solid 5G wherever I drive....however have not seen any fast speeds. Although I've only checked here and there....

Here in the Orlando area I’m seeing more 5G than I thought was available but even with 4 bars of 5G, the speeds aren’t great on average. Generally well under 100Mbps. Here at my office, with 3 bars of 5G I just got 83 down and 75 up. That’s fine for what I need but certainly not what others are seeing.

Black iPhone 12. Pretty solid results with T-Mo. 5G definitely offers some oomph over LTE, but even that is markedly improved over LTE when I had an iPhone 11 Pro. Given 5G lowers battery life a bit I considered just going LTE/Standard, but battery life seems to be noticeably worse overall. May as well enjoy all it has to offer.

I get 5G but it's low / mid (sub 6) in my area.

Does anyone know where I can see a map of only the T Mobile 5G mm Wave towers in my area ??

Been out driving around the past few days and except down in a hollow or two out in the country, our area is well covered by T-Mobile 5G. Neat to see 5G on CarPlay.
