U.S. carrier T-Mobile today introduced two new higher-end plans that include additional hotspot data and satellite connectivity, with the plans replacing its previous Go5G Plus and Go5G Next plans.

Experience More replaces Go5G Plus, and it has an additional 10 GB of hotspot data (60 GB total) and satellite connectivity that will be available through the end of the year. Customers can continue to upgrade every two years. Experience More is priced at $85 for a single line, but that price does not include taxes and fees.

Experience Beyond is T-Mobile's highest-end plan, replacing Go5G Next. It includes 250 GB of hotspot data instead of 50 GB, and 30 GB of high-speed data per month in Canada and Mexico, twice as much as before. It also includes satellite connectivity and the option to upgrade your smartphone each year. Experience Beyond is priced at $100 for a single line including taxes and fees, but prices are lower with more lines.

Both of the new plans come with a 5-year price guarantee, with T-Mobile promising that the price of their talk, text, and data will stay the same for five years. T-Mobile includes Netflix with ads, Apple TV+, MLB.TV, and MLS Season Pass with both plans, and Hulu with ads is also available with the Experience Beyond plan.

The Experience More and Experience Beyond plans will be available starting on April 23. Customers who already have Go5G Next or Go5G More will get the additional benefits at no extra cost.

Its like every other month they think of a idea to try to get more money out of you no matter what, ANOTHER new plan (taxes and fees are not included also on these new plans), disgusting and greedy, wish there was laws to stop BS like this
T-mobile is not forcing this on consumers. If you want there cheaper plan just go with Metro By T-Mobile. Or go with Visible Mobile for $25/month unlimited everything.

Why do we need laws? Just don't sign up for it! Plain and simple...
If only things were plain and simple most of the time…
Tho tbf, the plan seems to offer much more hotspot data than before. But as someone living in Australia I tend to wonder if an even cheaper but only has finite data would sell well in US. Most time I see is unlimited data with limits on hotspot each month.

Not sure why you're getting so much push back. Sure, you don't have to opt in, but it's still scummy. They make it sound like the new plans are cheaper but they are in fact more expensive since taxes and fees are not included: "...all at $5 less per line a month, plus taxes and fees..." Price Lock Guarantee is now just a 5 year guarantee. The list goes on - it gets worse and worse.

How much would T-mobile charge for 470GB per month mobile data or hotspot (customers choice) unlimited calls (including most countries) and unlimited text, all on 5G? That costs me just over $30 in Australia!

(Edit) I forgot to mention that I use between 3.7 and 4GB per day of data.

If T-Mobile keeps trying to push subscribers onto more expensive plans, they may find themselves losing customers like Verizon did.

April 22 (Reuters) - Verizon Communications lost more wireless subscribers in the first quarter than Wall Street expected, as the U.S. telecom giant grappled with the fallout of recent price hikes and aggressive promotions from rivals.

"We had a pretty big price up in January, and the elasticity on that price up was higher than what we had anticipated," Sowmyanarayan Sampath, CEO of Verizon Consumer, told Reuters.

That led to a higher churn, percentage of customers exiting a service, with Verizon reporting a loss of 289,000 monthly bill-paying wireless subscribers in the first quarter, compared with expectations for 166,400 losses, according to FactSet data.

Are they pushing though? I have like 30GB of free high-speed hot spot on my plan and I never use it, unless my internet goes out. I think this is offered to those who want it, no?

…Well with the weakening USD let’s just say you could buy a lot of marmite.

Left T-Mobile a few years after Legere left the company. It was pretty clear that they were going in an anti-consumer direction. It was a really good run 2010-2024, and we were paying $140 military plan for 6 unlimited lines with split between our family. Then the broken “price locks,” hikes, and loss of perks, lead to everyone going to their own MVNOs. I’m not going to say it’s been perfect, but we are paying less and have relatively the same service or better. They need to fire that CEO and quick.

I’ll stick with US Mobile. I don’t know why anyone would deal with this when you can get same service for much cheaper. Unless you like having your iPhone say “T-Mobile” why not go with a MVNO

T-Mobile has their tricks to move subscribers onto higher priced plans

And if that doesn't work, they'll just raise prices on legacy plans again.

T-Mobile Hikes Rates for Legacy Customers. Which Plans Are Affected?

March 14, 2025

T-Mobile may rank well as many people's favorite wireless carrier, but customers aren't too happy about an unexpected increase in the price of their legacy cell phone plans.

Some T-Mobile customers with older cellphone plans learned yesterday that their bills will see a $5-per-line increase beginning with their April or May bills. This comes after the company raised rates last June on other legacy plans.

In a Reddit r/tmobile megathread, customers have been chiming in with which plans they have and whether they received the notification. (In many instances, people say their plans seemed to be unaffected, only to then add something like, "Edit: Never mind, just got the email.") Plans mentioned include:

  • Magenta Max
  • T-Mobile One and One PlusSimple Choice
  • Simple Choice
  • OnePlus Promo Plan
  • Legacy Sprint plans
.

I moved from T-Mobile and ATT postpaid to T-Mobile Prepaid to avoid providing my social security number. I don't think any service or price cut could get me back to postpaid if it means providing my SSN to these telecoms.

Exactly what we need.. more government intervention, more laws..
Considering the government aka the citizens own the airwaves it would be perfectly acceptable for the government to pass some laws to stop price gouging and deceptive advertising. Don’t worry however as the government isn’t looking out for you and rarely passes laws to protect you.

They need to fire that CEO and quick.
Mike Sievert has been a good CEO for T-Mobile in the same way Tim Cook has been a good CEO for Apple. T-Mobile's business is strong; They continue to grow subscribers at a faster rate than AT&T and Verizon.

Since taking over the CEO role in April 2020, T-Mobile's stock is up over 184%. Compare that to AT&T (up 20.25%) and Verizon (down 25.44%) over the same period.
