I'm currently on android and thinking about switching to iOS depending on whether I like the Note 8 or iPhone 8 more. I was thinking about going the AiUP way this time around if I get the iPhone 8, but given that I'm on T-Mobile, it looks like there isn't a way to do this online beyond going in-stores.

Are there any tips T-Mobile customers have to speed up the process?

I am a T-Mobile user but I buy my phones from Apple directly. It feels to me to be a quicker process than going directly to the T-Mobile store... It may be worth giving Apple a call to see what they can offer...

I'm on TMO also and have been on the Apple upgrade program since launch. All reservations are made online but you have to go into a store to pick up. In year two, it makes more sense as you give back your phone and it needs to be inspected before you can upgrade. I've never had any problems with my exchanges & upgrades.

Oh okay, so the upgrade process seems to be a bit more easier; but it looks like if it's your first time and you're on t-mobile, you're going to have to go in-stores.

You have to go in-store every year under the current program. Hope they update the process but so far, I've not had any problems having to go in to swap out my phone at launch.

I am on the Apple upgrade program and i switched in March from att to t-mobile will i still be able to reserve online on preorder day for in store pickup like i have been doing with Att. All i did when i switched from att to t-mobile was swap SIM cards and it worked and i am still on the apple upgrade program. Also would paying full price on preorder day be an option and have it mailed to me?

Just an update to my plan for those who are interested:

I've changed my mind and decided that I'm just going to ship to home. After a few days (when the Apple store dies down), I'll make an appointment and return / rebuy under the iPhone Upgrade Program.

I don't like being in crowded areas, and I imagine Apple stores will be pretty busy when the iPhone X launches.
