Indeed.Companies should be fined heavily for stuff like this. Many don’t invest enough resources to be responsible but not enough public outrage. Will be no news by tomorrow.

When people accidentally allow distribution it's $22,500 per incident, but when it happens to a company they hold no liability but promise to "investigate the validity" of the claim.
Sue them into the dirt, replace all the executives and sell their assets to anyone who hasn't worked for Verizon or ATT in the past five years.

Can you really decline their asking of SSN?This is why you don’t give out your ssn even if a company asks for it.
have you considered looking it up? i'm referring to things like netflix, kickback(grandfathered — no longer offered), 2g data + texting in s-ton of countries, and mexico&canada are free, not $5/mo. i'm sure there are more, but these should last you.Like what?
Including non active/old accounts I guess.Considering that T-Mobile has a little over 100M subscribers, it wouldn't shock me if this impacted all accounts.
If this is true, it's huge. Already considering putting a freeze on my credit.
yes perks!!! i don't know what you pay for — my perks are included with the plan, hence "perks" — not paid add-ons.Perks???
You pay for perks.
You do of course realize that those aren't perks but rather services that you pay for every single month whether you use them or not.have you considered looking it up? i'm referring to things like netflix, kickback(grandfathered — no longer offered), 2g data + texting in s-ton of countries, and mexico&canada are free, not $5/mo. i'm sure there are more, but these should last you.
this might come as a shock, but when they introduce new perks, they don't raise the plan cost. so since i've been with them for a while, most of the perks i mentioned — didn't exist at first, yet now they do.You do of course realize that those aren't perks but rather services that you pay for every single month whether you use them or not.
Yes to any utilities that demand it.Can you really decline their asking of SSN?
Nowadays the companies may deny you service if you don't supply all the information they want!
Who has the right to request your SSN? Federal law mandates that state Departments of Motor Vehicles, tax authorities, welfare offices, and other governmental agencies request your SS number as proof that you are who you claim to be.
