T-Mobile EDGE Issues

    Okay, I called up T-Mobile and had them subscribe me to the Total Internet Access plan but did not tell them I'm using an iPhone. When I set my apn to wap.voicestream.com I can get email but no internet. When I set it to internet2.voicestream.com I am told that I am not subscribed to EDGE and cannot even get e-mail.

    I called T-Mobile and they essentially said all they could do was refer me to a blackberry specialist who wouldn't help much with an iPhone.

    Has anyone else had this problem? This is the only feature not working for me.

    Your wap.voicestrea.com should work. I too erroneously set up with the other voicestream address for my APN and received that couldnt connect error. After changing it to wap.voicestream.com it worked flawlessly albeit slow.

    it works fine with e-mail but not at all with internet

    Successful internet & e-mail access with T-Mobile

    I added the 'total Internet' plan with T-mobile. 30 minutes later I was able to access the web and check my email using EDGE. Internet is decent but You-Tube is too slow to be usable.
    FYI: APN is set to wap.voicestream.com

    Problem solved

    I had a corrupt preferences.plist file and just replaced it with one i found on the internet. Now all is well :)

    I am having problems as well. I used the simfree paid version to unlock the phone. How would I know if my plist is corupt and how would I fix it? I cant get anything to work as far as data goes. I have tried the wap.voicestream.com internet2.voicestream.com internet3.voicestream.com I have an MDA that had the total internet package on it. Do I need to ask them to do somthing? I am at a loss here any help I would be thankful.

    help!!! Please.

    Hello to all,

    I'm new here and am trying to succeed with the complete unlock of the iphone.

    I had a sidekick and upgraded to an iphone. Had the data plan on the sidekick but can't get any internet or email love on the iphone. I have typed in the EDGE APN settings:

    wap.voicestream.com
    internet2.voicestream.com
    internet3.voicestream.com

    left the username and password fields blank but to no avail.

    I have an E at the top of the screen. No IP address listed under the Network Selection screen.


    This is where I got stuck:

    Now you'll see a new icon called Installer on your iphone home screen, tap on it. It will connect to internet and download a list of available applications. First time you start it, it will probably find a new version of itself (Installer), tap on it then "Update" in the top right corner. When it's done updating, press the home button to exit and wait for it to refresh, then tap on Installer again. When installer is started again, install the following software in this order:

    Community Sources
    BSD Subsystem (might take some minutes)
    OpenSSH

    No internet access on the iphone yet, but i'm eagerly, overly anxiously anticipating the completion of this.
