How? To do Apple Pay you have to verify every transaction with Touch ID or Face ID or your passcode. That’s interesting. I believe it works, I just haven’t seen it before. Good to know.

You have to do what the article says. It is different in that using the card number is the same as swiping it in a store–you only get 2%, instead of 3% cash-back when you use Apple Pay.Question. To change a TMobile recurring autopay, is using my Apple Card number the same as ApplePay or do I have to do something different.
I want Verizon to do this so I can get 2% instead of 1% back.
It is possible with auto-pay. I just set it up.
I’m genuinely curious about this. I’ve set things up for autopay with Apple Pay before but it’s actually just using the virtual card number and is not an actual Apple Pay transaction. So when the next charge hits the card the cash back is only at 1%. Wondering if this will be the same.
It would make sense to me that T-Mobile is also doing it this way since a true Apple Pay payment needs to be authenticated each time (via touch or Face ID) and that’s simply not possible with auto pay.
Apple could also have set up a deal with T-Mobile to give 3% all the time similar to how it works at the Apple store.
But I guess we’ll see for sure in a months time...
T-Mobile's press release specifies you need to choose Apple Pay option ("when they use Apple Card with Apple Pay"). And it's frankly much easier to choose Apple Pay.Question. Yup. Look at my screenshots above. Apple Card + Apple Pay + T-Mobile bill payment or T-Mobile Store payment = 3%Does this method now qualify for 3% Cash Back when paying with Apple Card?
