T-Mobile has announced a second "Un-carrier Unwrapped" promotion that offers Sprint customers a $200 bill credit for each line switched to a T-Mobile Simple Choice postpaid plan starting Thursday, November 26.

The offer is valid for Sprint, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile postpaid and prepaid customers, with no device trade-in required for the bill credit.

Sprint customers can still take advantage of T-Mobile's Carrier Freedom offer, which provides up to $650 towards a balance owing or to pay off early termination fees (ETFs) with an eligible device trade-in.
Just switch any Sprint number - including postpaid, prepaid, Boost and Virgin Mobile - over to a T-Mobile Simple Choice postpaid plan starting this Thursday, November 26 and you'll automatically get a $200 credit on your bill. That's $200 multiplied by as many lines as you switch. For a family of four, that could mean $800 extra, and for a business with 10 employees, we're talking about a $2,000 credit!
This limited time offer is part of T-Mobile's monthlong "Un-carrier Unwrapped" holiday promotion that began with three months of free unlimited LTE data for all Simple Choice postpaid customers earlier this week.

T-Mobile plans to unveil additional "gifts" over the next month, with a new gift coming at least once per week. T-Mobile CEO John Legere confirmed on Twitter that gifts are coming soon for AT&T and Verizon customers.

The 2nd gift for Sprint switchers should be a free phone that works on TM since Sprint phones do not. 200 bucks and no phone? Give up that new Sprint iPhone for $200?

Is this on top of any other "uncarrier" promotions where they buy off any remaining debt on your line as well?

Well.... when I decided to RTFA, I saw this:
"Sprint customers can still take advantage of T-Mobile's Carrier Freedom offer, which provides up to $650 towards a balance owing or to pay off early termination fees (ETFs) with an eligible device trade-in."
=P

Edit:
Apparently the article was updated AFTER this question was asked.... so: good question! & apologies for the tone in assuming you hadn't read thoroughly.

Yes, T-Mobile Carrier Freedom can be combined with this offer. Sprint customers can get a $200 bill credit (no device trade-in required) + up to $650 to pay off any balance owing or ETFs (device trade-in required). I've updated the article with this information.

I updated the article after his comment.

There are a ton of Sprint customers who don't have a new phone. Even if they do, not every phone is a flagship. There are a lot of lower and mid tier phones out there. Wouldn't that $200 credit go towards a new phone?

Quite a few people I know have been on the fence about switching to T-Mobile and this might be just the thing to push them to the other side.

For those who think Sprint is a better alternative to T-Mobile... What innovative measures has Sprint taken to stir up the competition? *Crickets*... That's what I thought. Sprint doesn't have the resources to stir up the competition.

That $3.81 and falling stock Sprint has just shows you how much the company is still slowly going bankrupt. Sprint is lucky Softbank will bail them out once they go under.

Wow, things are getting interesting. T-Mo has the freedom to do this, but the blood letting that is occurring with Spring means they have less $$ to keep cutting the price

They're doing such a great job with real passion and excitement, I'm eating up T-Mobile keynotes like I used to with Apple's. And I'm in the UK, I should have absolutely no motivation to watch them. John Legere gives the consumer what they need at a great price, then when they make more money from it, they just throw the profits back into the business and increase service, speeds, offer better deals, etc.

That sort of attitude makes me wish Legere was the CEO of Apple :D

T mobile and sprint are really are really trying to stir it up. Unfortunately att and Verizon won't bite
Well I can't speak about AT&T but I can understand why Verizon won't bite. They unequivocally have the best and largest coverage of all the the above carriers and they don't need to bow down to Sprint and T-mo's level. That's not to say Verizon couldn't lower their prices and expand beyond being the "Business Customer's" carrier of choice, but still....

Well if you pay your ETF Sprint should have to unlock your phone. I know in the past Sprint wouldn't unlock iPhones, but I believe they have to now. And the newer Sprint iPhones do support T-mobile bands. And T-mobile is paying the ETF in addition to the $200 according to the article.

Well, that won't work for me. With Virgin I pay $30 per month (iPhone users pay $5 less per month over Android) and my iPhone 6s was $549 = $909 + tax per year.
T-Mobile's equivalent plan is $40 per month + same iPhone 6s is $649 ($100 more!!) - $200 to switch = $929 + tax per year.

Interesting that iPhones with both Boost and Virgin are at least $100 less than the competition's equivalent models.

This is in addition to T-Mobile's Carrier Freedom promotion, which will buy out contracts and installation plans covering those customer's current phones. As well as T-Mobile's various installment offerings, which allow you to potentially walk out of the store with a new phone not even having paid sales tax (depending on your credit and the phone you choose.)

I wonder if Virgin and Boost put a small subsidy on the phone so that they can't be compelled to unlock it for use with other SIMs...
