Is that better than changing my fiancé's existing plan to the new plan and adding me to it? We will both want to keep our same numbers.
Well, if you stay with your fiancé's plan then you don't get unlimited data unless your fiancé moves to the TMO plan.

If he just adds you to the plan, whatever one that ends up being, then no-one gets the Hookup Code.

The Hookup Code is 20% off the total bill - for life.

If you port in you can use the Hookup Code and you keep your number. Add him to your account and he still keeps his number and now the code applies to the total bill.

But don't take my word for it. Verify with a CSR from T-Mob.

Whelp we we went ahead and made the switch today! You were right about starting a new plan to get the hookup discount. We were also able to trade in my fiancé's 6s to save us most of the final payment for his Jump On Demand. We're now set up for 24 month financing on both his 7 and mine.

The only hiccup was that the CSR accidentally put my number on my fiancé's SIM and somehow didn't attach a number to the SIM in my phone. Luckily we got it fixed before they closed. I was going in circles trying to restore my backup until we figured out the issue. Verizon's deactivation servers were quick enough that I wasn't getting texts on my old phone within a matter of minutes!

Glad to hear it all worked out!

Enjoy the network and enjoy the Hookup Code! I would LOVE to be able to apply that, but we aren't new customers so oh well. T-Mob's been really good to us so I have no complaints.

I have 7 lines for $290 at t-mobile with 3 with one plus, the rest with just one.

I highly recommend the one plus, can tether and watch netflix in hotels, granted it's 480p but you can enable HD pass for the day and it's unlimited data but might be slowed if you go over 30gigs but still fast enough to always stream 480p, great for watching X-Files because X-Files was originally filmed in 480p :)

T-Mobile has been great for the 3 months I've had them, Verizon is still the worst (Friends), great network but they really screw you over with fee's

What fees does Verizon have, that T-Mobile doesn't include / charge?

They are saying they are going to include AppleCare services to those with JUMP! but it's not known yet if it's on all JUMP! plans. I'm on JUMP 1.0. All the new plans are said to include it once everyone buys a new iPhone!

Verizon still charges taxes and fees on top of your rates. Their rates are also a bit higher at the moment. Their activation fee is also a bit higher than T-Mobile. I believe they also still charge overage fees on their limited data plans while T-Mobile throttles.

It's not Jump per se. Their new insurance/device protection includes AppleCare+ for $12 a month per device. It also protects against loss and theft, so we thought it was a good deal!

T-Mobile has the same type fees and taxes as Verizon, they just include them in the bottom line price. They don't charge overage fees, so long as you slide the overage meter to on, on your phone. As to upgrade fee, T-Mobile wins that point. And no question about Verizon being a bit higher.

Hopefully, you two will be very pleased with T-Mobile and your new iPhones.

I just hope they do include anyone who is paying that $12 like I am. Meaning even people grandfathered into an old JUMP! plan like mine.

Yup. Including taxes and fees and having already lower rates makes them quite a bit cheaper than Verizon at the moment. And living where we do in Kansas City the service is just fine.

I have no idea if it's part of old Jump plans now. You'd have to talk to them.

The question is how long to I need to wait for text messages and calls to start coming in correctly? Need SMS verification to get into some of my apps, and I'm not getting all of my texts yet. Thankfully I did get the iCloud ones finally.

Verizon charging a fee of $20 per line is absurd. What a bunch of arrogant pricks. Happy to be a new T-Mobile customer and paying less than half of my past bill with Verizon.

The $20 per line as part of the plan? Theoretically that's the talk & text part and the rest is shared data.

So that makes the 2 lines for $100 only $80 with all fees?

And if you had 4 lines only $128 total?

How long is the hook up thing going on? Couldn't I just Porto another carrier for a month and come back?
You have until March 31st.

T-Mobile sets a minimum of 45 days between leaving and returning to qualify as a new customer.

Any plans you currently have that are grandfathered and may wish to keep you will lose if you do this.

They can finagle it if you combine plans with someone porting in. I.e. my fiancé had a plan with them, and I was on Verizon. I ported over on a new plan and "took over responsibility" for his line. So his old plan was cancelled, and he got transferred to my new plan. The CSR used his Hookup, and I got a text today confirming it went through.

Interesting. 3/4 of our lines we care about the number. My sons we don't. We could just drop that one, port three over, and he would have another (we only use that line for data)

Shoot I'm going to go in and try this tomorrow. $10 is $10 lol.

The new line probably needs to belong to the account holder at least in appearance.

I am the current account holder. The new account holder would be my wife. I imagine that would work? I will ask them in the store an make my intentions clear that way we don't waste time doing something they know wouldn't work.

You got lots of patience and time on your hands I see:D lol
LMAO. I just know that I will forever be wondering if I could have saved even more off my phone bill. But I need to see what this VZW accomdations plan my wife just found out about is. All she knows is it's "really good", whatever that means lol. AllI have read online is BB employees get 25% off but she said management gets something better (back when she had it as assistant manager it sucked and was only eligible for one line). She does have some minor reception issues where she works now, so there's that to consider.

As a side note I discovered that Vermont has next to no coverage. I was roaming on AT&T for half of our trip yesterday and had very spotty coverage while on TMO. I was surprised because in our cross country trip the copverage was great. Utah was a dea zone but friends who live there say it suckes on VZW too so...

Anyway, we shall see how thin my patience is worn.
