A la carte is unlikely because it is better financially, for them, to bundle. I would think they would bundle tv with internet so you get both and the total cost is less than either separately.
A la carte isn't really cheap either. Some cable networks have started doing it like AMC and HBO and Showtime but it's expensive when you add them up individually. Honestly, if DirecTV now just offered a package without ESPN, the most expensive channel out there, that would lower prices for people who don't care about sports.

T-Mobile did us all a great service when they announced their incarrier plan in 2013. The status quo at the time was counting your texts, minutes, and data or suffering a sky high bill. We were all also locked into contracts with early termination fees. John, the no-bs CEO, changed all that with uncarrier. They started gaining customers like crazy and the other big players were forced to follow.

Another one of my favorite innovations is their plan which has all taxes and fees included in up-front pricing. Nothing bugs me more than being pitched a $50/mo plan just to have $15-20 in taxes and bs fees added on. Thank you John, you’re awesome!

Yeah their family plan is still one of the better major carrier plans. Four lines for $40 with netflix included. As you said, that's with the taxes and fees so the bill is literally just $160. Obviously the caveat is to make sure their service is good where you live.

Yhey probably would like too but Disney/ESPN won't agree to not being on the basic tier.

They're even better with the various government / miltary / corporate discounts; as long as you have good service.

Lol, T-Mobile claims to be "disruptive" about everything they do, but the reality is that they don't do anything better than other carriers, and sometimes they're worse. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Gotta love me T-Mobile.
5 lines, unlimited data, texting, talk, tethering, and unlimited data & text in almost every other country included.
Plus they include my Netflix for free, it's all included. My monthly bill is around $160. Coverage on my iPhone 6 wasn't so good because Apple doesn't include too many bands on their phones, so I switched to a Pixel 2 and it's amazing. Sometimes I'm over 150Mb/sec up and down, most of the time over 30Mb up and down.

Can't wait to see what they do on TV, but if it's anything like their mobile service I'm in!

If by "unlimited data" you mean 2GB of data, and then unlimited dial-up-speed data, then ok. But most of us don't consider that real unlimited.

Only overseas is there a speed decrease after a certain usage amount. Even when I skype or facetime overseas I’ve never had an issue with usability even if I’ve exceeded the limit. They can throttle in the US but even with heavy usage I’ve never had an issue.

Considering I pay about $20 a line it is a better deal than anyone else.

The limit is 50GB, and even then you're only de-prioritized if you're in an area with heavy tower congestion.

Well, you're talking about a plan that simply does not exist to all consumers then. It's not on their website. 5 lines, each unlimited for $160 total? That is not anywhere on their website. You must have signed up with some sort of deal, because that's not one of their plans.

4 lines are $140 (on the web site) and the 5th is $20.

No, the website says each line is $40 per line for 4 lines. That's $160 for 4 lines, not 5. It would be $200 for 5 lines (if they even let you add an additional line, because everywhere I'm seeing says it's only 4 lines).

And the pricing gets even worse the less lines you get. 3 lines is $47 per line ($141), 2 lines is $60 per line ($120), and 1 line is $70.

I just don't understand where you guys are getting your numbers from. I'd really like to know. (Really, I honestly want to know)

I'm not sure where you are seeing their pricing. The 2 and 3 line pricing is the same - $120 total at $60 or $40 per. All are with outo pay discount.

For the 4 line, go the Plans section. Scroll to the bottom and adjust the slider to 4 lines - it results in 4 lines @ $35/line for $140.

T-Moblie Essentials is $30 /line for 4 but does not include any of the extras and taxes or fees; so I would guess it would be about equal to or possibly more than the TMob One price once taxes and fees are added.

You have to contact them for lines 5 - 6 but the last time I checked they were $20 each.

How do you find 5G by the way, may it be better to use something else instead of it to get a better speed?

Not sure I follow. No one has 5G yet. But it’s coming soon and will be replacing all of our home internet. The cable companies are in a panic.

While I agree 5G has the potential to be a game changer; it will be interesting to see how it is priced. Unless there is no cpas or a high cap then it won't be much of a threat. Even so, a telco and cable provider are often under the same corporate shell so what one loses the other gains. It will be interesting to see how 5G rolls out, and I agree cable companies need to think about what they will do to counter it. Quite frankly, ATT / Verizon could simply dump wired connections once the band width gets high enough to handle the same load. Lot less infrastructure to maintain; no more satellites, last mile fiber, and install costs.

Wrong.
It's actually unlimited. I've never been throttled, ever. Even after going upwards of 50GB in a month. They only throttle when their network is congested and you're in the top few percent. It's fantastic!

Wrong.
If any line uses less than 2GB of data you get a $10 credit per line.
One or two of us in the 5 usually doesn't hit 2GB/month.

I'm wondering if pricing is different based on region in the US then, because that's not at all what I'm seeing.

That would just reduce your costs below the $160 I mentioned. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.

It could be but I would be very surprised. Local fees perhaps? You could always call TMob if you really want to know.
