I have my grandfathered plan from AT&T and have been extremely happy. I just hope it never goes away.

I'm confused. What is considered a grandfathered plan? Is it one that they no longer offer anymore but people are still signed up for? The $30 prepaid plan won't be going away will it?
I have the lowest plan on AT&T but unlimited calls, texts and up to 500MB of data for $45 is the winner.
But you have to wake up every morning fearing that it will be taken away, or fearing that they'll go the way of VZ and take it away with your next upgrade.
I would switch over but unfortunately TMO doesn't offer LTE in my area...their signal actually isn't all that great for the friends of mine that have them.
Thats exactly what I was thinking... So unfair how expensive everything is here.$45 a month? Are you kidding? I pay $70 a month in canada and get 6gb lte and only 250 daytime mins, unlimited text and vm.
If their coverage were great, they wouldn't be offering these great deals. I can't believe people fall for this BS. T-Mobile is only going to seem great while they are trying to build up their customer base.

No, what they are doing is taking away things like:So they're taking away unlimited to give back....unlimited??
But since there are no contracts forcing people to stay with them, T-Mobile must keep up this new level of service or people will simply leave. If their coverage were great, they wouldn't be offering these great deals. As for coverage, I often find that my wife can get coverage with T-Mobile where I have none with AT&T, there is only ONCE in recent memory where the reverse has been true.
I also think that many missed the fact that T-Mobile is also offering the option to cancel with no penalty through Feb. of next year. Yes, you could probably have gotten out of a contract within 30 days of the change, but they are giving much longer than that. I think that speaks volumes towards the integrity of the company.
The US carriers are scam artists and oligopolies and the government should spend some time investigating these monstrosities instead of being shut down.
And to think AT&T almost bought them out.
I'm so glad that was stopped in its tracks. Anyone think AT&T will eventually see how T-Mobile is starting to kick their asses, and lower prices/improve services?
The grass may not be greener on the other side.

T-Mobile is awesome!
Now if they only had coverage and access to non-terrible frequencies that bounce right off buildings!
Why not just use straight talk unlimited (2.5gb then throttled) unlimited calls and texts, also for $45 and also on the ATT network with no contract? The plan you have is definitely nothing amazing.

Not sure I understand the Straight Talk deal. Why would AT&T allow that? Looking at their web site it is like you basically get the $60 AT&T plan on AT&T network but for $45 / month with slight discounts for paying up front and no contract. Why would anyone stay on an AT&T contract with that avaialbe? I am not bashing AT&T, I honestly don't understand this.![]()
My feelings exactly - it's a great carrier, with practically cult-like customer service, but I always lose coverage inside many buildings where folks who have ATT and Verizon do not. Ditto for when I'm out and about driving.T-Mobile is awesome!
