Besides say 'corporate plans' where your company pays for your plan on Tmobile, how is it better than AT&T?

From what i hear, you lose visual voicemail, and you don't get 3G data.
so why switch?
I've never used Tmob.. so this is an honest question, not to spam/troll. I'm hoping for some technical answers.

Finally, if you just got the iphone 4, if you use Tmobile, don't you still have to pay AT&T for your contract of 2 years?
Just wondering how some people got out of that.

Thanks!

Main reason I did it was to save $720/year by not having to pay for data plans for my wife and my iP4's. There's wifi 9 times out of 10 wherever we go, so there's no point in paying for something you can get for free.

We got our ip4s through someone we knew who was opening 2 lines on AT&T, but didn't care which phones they used. So we bought them basic phones off eBay, and we got the $199 price for the iphones. Worked out pretty well...

As far as service, never had a single dropped call with Tmobile.

1) I don't like AT&T on many levels
2) Tmo customer service has been the best I have ever had
3) Pricing on phone plans was the best, and you are not forced to pay a premium iPhone plan prices (as if other phones don't use data, I never understood that one)
4) I am grandfathered into a really good unlimited internet deal right now.

That being said, I have a 3G iPhone, and the slowness of the phone combined with just EDGE (vs. 3G speeds) is making me look into a droid phone from Tmo.
