When I had T-Mobile it was always an.... interesting experience buying iPhones at 3am with them. The last time I bought (XS) was the first time T-Mobile was available for purchase thru Apple and it was 1000 times smoother. I literally woke up, ordered, and went back to sleep. That plus not having to do the massive down payment like someone else mentioned made going thru Apple my preferred option.

Their monthly payment system is definitely different. They are offering the SE 2020 for 50% off with trade in. I inquired about it, and they pretty much said that you'd have to stick it out with the credits for 2 years, and if you choose to pay it off early, you'd have to pay the original price ($399 or regular payments are $16.67 a month) for at least two months and you can pay it upfront after that. So basically, they don't factor in the amount after the trade ins are applied like Verizon or AT&T do. For instance, if you get 50% off on ATT or VZW, it'd be $199 and if you make two months of payments that'd be around $179 and you can pay that amount off. Instead, they make you pay for it with the original retail price up front and then apply the credits toward the amount of your bill.

I have 5 more days to spend with T-Mobile and I will no longer be a customer anymore. I switched to Verizon this past Thursday and noticed the difference in coverage using both phones to browse the web and make phone calls. Even though I’ll be paying a little more with Verizon, I think I made the right decision in switching. When the iPhone 12’s launch, I’m going to preorder through both Verizon and Apple and cancel whichever order have not shipped first.

Which plan did you sign up for? I loved Verizon, but their plans are pricey, and especially for me I only need 1 line.

The old Get More Unlimited plan. I don’t watch Disney+, Hulu or ESPN, but I do use Apple Music, so now I’ll be saving the $9.99/month. I would’ve went with the new plan, if they had not changed the 4G/LTE from 75GB to 50GB.

I purchased my iPhone X directly through T-Mobile. Traded in a 6 Plus for $300 off the new device and charged a month equipment installment plan. It was a smooth process and I managed to get one at launch by calling them to order.

This depends on the promo. AT&T often does the same thing requiring you to stick the entire 24 or 30 months if you want to receive all the bill credits. No upgrades or cancellations allowed during the contract term. This usually occurs when they offer higher trade in value than the phones allowed for trade in are worth.

The recent Walmart deal for the SE 2020 is the exception rather than the norm and I think it's more of a Walmart offer than a Verizon or AT&T one. Likely sell device at cost and make money off wireless service commission.
