I once have had a small t.v that had an antena and I was able to watch free t.v anywhere [I have cablevision]. I am wondering If I could buy one of theese off of eBay, I have looked and only name brand items have came up. If you think it is possible to put that on my 27 inch t.v. and you might know where to find one please tell me. I am also wondering if an apple t.v is a good decision, and do you have to pay per month for the service and stuff. Please help.

I'm assuming you're from the US. Yes, you can put an antenna on a current-generation TV and get free TV channels. Your TV must have a digital TV tuner (channel numbers look like "4-1" and "23-1") or a digital TV converter box.

Apple TV is for playing items from your current iTunes library on another computer or purchasing movies/shows from iTunes or purchasing subscriptions to NetFlix and Hulu. If all you want to watch is already in your iTunes library, it's free.

Well I have a sony 4ft tv, and it has a antenna thread. My old mini t.v was portable and did not need a box thing. And can you please dumb down your post I did not get most of it. Thank you for the apple t.v info
