t1i fickle about naming files

so my t1i has been naming my files with "_MG_xxx" and "IMG_xxx" and because it goes back and forward from the UNDERSCORE to the I, it mixed up photo order. minor thing. but its just killing me.

if anyone could inform me as to why or how to change it, it'll be greatly appreciated.

it's not messing up anything. you're shooting in RAW + Jpg, so it makes a RAW file and a jpg copy of every image you take. RAW is _MG, Jpg is IMG.

but i wasn't not shooting in RAW.

Did you recently change color space? When you're shooting in sRGB it labels them IMG, when shooting in Adobe RGB they're labelled _MG. It's supposed to let you know which are going to need a little extra care in color processing (my understanding, anyhow).
