    Hi everyone,

After 5 years using a mac i still didn't found a solution for a keystroke i used on windows.
When i'm programming i sometimes would like to tab more then one row at the same time, for example, this:
    Apple
    Pear
    Pineapple

    To:
    ____Apple
    ____Pear
    ____Pineapple
(Edit: I'm sorry this forum trims the tabs out, so i'm using _ instead)

On windows i was able to select the three rows and press the Tab key, but on Mac it replaces my selection with a single tab. Is there a way to do this on mac?

    Thanks!

    Chris

The solution is to use a text editor that supports it. I find a number of them do, just not TextEdit. Some example programs, TextWrangler, Smultron, NetBeans, etc.

What text editor in particular are you referring to?

    Hey guys, thanks!

I use coda. I thought it was just the mac who worked different

I can't really find if coda supports it in a way, i hope it does, i can't do without coda.

    EDIT:

Oh yeah! Found how to do it, hold option then select a block of text, place your cursor in front of one of the lines in the block and you can tab, also commenting works this way. :)

    Thanks guys

From this page, it looks like you might be able to use command+] to indent and command+[ to untab.
