Just came across this – some Google Sketchup plans for making better use of the space:

That's a stupid design.

You wouldn't build a seperate shower room, you'd just tub seal and tile the whole room and have a shower head and taps on the wall above a whole floor drain point. Some nice large 2 foot square limestone tiling. You'd install a wall hidden folddown bed with shelves above it into the opposite wall with a curtain on a bent railing so the curtain covers the bed unit during day time (help dapen down the reverb of the tiled room and stop it feeling like you live in a bathroom) and is moved around a rail to cover the kitchen area at night so it would feel just like a normal bedroom. During the day you'd have 4 Eames stackable plastic sidechairs to put around a fold down table, at night you'd just stack the chairs in front of the door which would be covered by the curtain. Couple of really large skylights so you get heaps of natural light which would make it feel heaps larger. It'd be a sweet little pad for a couple even!

I was just in London today and it's $14 for a drink, $20 for a small lunch, etc. etc.

It's insane......(snip)......even if I spent about $200 in a day and a half just on food and drink. (And I was trying to save money!)

Round the corner from me there's a small cafe called Baker and Spice. Nice food. Various TV and film people go there......

.....No wonder it's popular with stingy brit supermodels who don't mind splashing out a fiver on a cabbage leaf or happily pay £60 for a couple of grams of something illegal.

Opposite is a fish and chip cafe. £1.20 for a massive helping of chips, and if I want to splash out, another 60p for a pot of mushy peas or curry sauce.

Just pointing it out, folks.

I think this has been sold now, as Lane Fox have removed it from their website.

I was looking at it there a while ago though and the pictures of it showed the full size of it. I thought it was rather cute and imagined myself living in there for a while quite happily. Everything within easy reach, cosy, alone.

I guess one way to go about refurbishment would be to treat it like a barge cabin and use smaller fitting and fixtures. Only real problem I can see is not having the space for a proper washing machine - would have to get one of those mini ones or go to a laundrette. Can't imagine there are many of those nearby.

Actually, I was all set to look into getting the money together for this place when I realised I wouldn't be able to take my 24" iMac with me, so had to call it off. :(

It could probably be arranged - central-ish London, after all. And if not then perhaps an arrangement with a neighbour over wireless access. Or there is always 3G, if there is reception. I have a friend who lives on a boat in the middle of nowhere and she gets broadband-speed 3G no problem.

Then.. they weighted our plate and charged us by the gram  A small place of salad was £20 ($40)

That's not the best.. ever tried buying an Apple Computer in the UK? :apple: :D
Don't know if they are weighing it, but considering the price, it might very well be...

And by the way.. what people living in the US call "small" is "large" over here in Europe. Supersize menus don't exist in the old world :D
