Does it have a graphics tablet connected? If so, it would enable Inkwell - Apple's built-in handwriting recognition software. It's been part of OS-X since 10.2 (or maybe .1, I forget).

i received this update through my 10.6 server updates as a security update for this month for my mac mini desktop.

after that this showed up, there is nothing connected to it but a keyboard and mouse :S.

its definitely ink well....why is it showing up?

Did you install Inklet?

Out of curiosity, why do you think he'd install Inklet if he has a Mac Mini?

I'm not sure why Ink would show up... it's kind of weird. Is it still there after a restart/logout? Have you tried removing all of your USB devices and seeing if it's still there?

I have a tablet and the Wacom software installed, and Ink only shows up when the tablet is connected, so it's not the Wacom software that enables it.

He didn't specify what Mac he was using in his first three posts. His signature says he owns a MacBook Air. I missed the line about the Mac mini...
