Tagging audio files/metadata editing

Recent Windows convert, got my MacBook Air (M2) last May, so about a year. One app I used heavily on Windows was Mp3tag, where it's free, but on Mac, the same thing is $30, same developer. No explanation for the discrepancy, so I can only assume, and no assumptions make it look good. So, I'd rather just look elsewhere.

Seems like there were a ton of options on Windows, but not so many on macOS.

I do pay for and use Apple Music, but I also like to keep stuff offline as well, in case for whatever reason I can't keep the streaming service. Like as a backup or failsafe.

Not a gamer, so never heard of it. It's my "disguise" of Groucho glasses, copped from the Wikipedia page for said item.
