Still under 80% whereas Sequoia broached the 80% mark in April of last year.

I just noticed that I never posted the June snapshot

Tahoe actually lost ground from May, and just to be clear, this exhibit was updated on 06/01, so it predates GG. I don't think we'll be seeing any more growth, now that GG is in beta

For comparison, here's what macOS 15 looks like in June of 2025 reached about 89% adoption. Overall, I wouldn't quantify Tahoe as being a failure, 80% is nothing to sneeze at.

Until 27 comes out, all new Macs add to Tahoe adoption - unless everybody immediately goes to 27 beta.
Of course, but the trend seems to be a flattening of adoption. macos 15's adoption rate slowed dramatically in June of last year, and Tahoe is following suit. I think the slowing will be more pronounced because computers in general are more expensive so people are not buying them as fast as they may have in years past..

I haven't upgraded from Sequoia to Tahoe. I assume that I should be able to upgrade to a non-beta OS-X 27 when available hopefully this year (?)

Sequoia has been very reliable so far, right through update 7.7, so I haven't felt the need to upgrade to Tahoe, although Apple continues sending notices to upgrade to it.

I never updated to Tahoe from Sequoia on my M4 14" MBP. I was too put off by the rounded corners and other UI issues plus reports of worse battery life. Now that Golden Gate has addressed some of these (mainly the rounded corners, which it seems now we can adjust to our liking via Terminal eliminating the issue completely) I feel comfortable moving on when the time comes. I will probably still wait a month or two just to see how the initial release pans out, but if it's fairly stable I don't see why not.

I will just guess that GG will have a faster adoption rate than Tahoe though I suspect less people will be buying new computers due to price increases which may offset this somewhat.

I don't like Liquid Glass; it actually annoys me. It's all about solving design problems that wouldn't even exist without Liquid Glass. And what amazes me is the fact that, almost a year after the release of Tahoe, I don't have a single third-party app on my macOS that has adopted the new design language.

I’m still debating whether I should downgrade to Sequoia on my MacBook Pro M4 and just wait out the new design. Damn, I've turned into such an old fogey, but the further back I look in the history of macOS, the more I like the old releases.

On the other hand, you have to keep up with the times, or time will pass you by.

You can change the Tahoe interface to a Sequoia-like appearance using these terminal commands:
Code:
defaults write -g NSSplitViewItemSidebarDefaultsToFloatingAppearance -bool false
defaults write -g NSConvolutionOverride1 -float 15
killall Finder
You can change the value 15 as desired. The higher this value, the rounder the corners will be. The less, the sharper. To apply the changes, use the last command.

I installed Tahoe. But only as a virtual machine on UTM on my Sequoia Mac. Then I deleted the Tahoe VM after a couple weeks. Never had Tahoe running on "bare metal." The UI is too messed-up. Plus all I read about it on other forums is all the problems it has, bricking machines, etc. Sounds like Tahoe is considerably more problematic than other macOS verstions.

Have Tahoe and patiently waiting on GG but for what I do I have not experienced any problems as for UI it just a matter of getting use to it as long as it does not break anything I am good.
