This is quite unacceptable all caused by this latest Apple IOS software update... After installing 26.5.2 software on my MacBook Air lap top, the photos app is no longer operational to the Facebook app (only). In other words, you can no longer upload a photo from your photos app file to Facebook. Instead you got to drag the photo you downloaded to the photo app and slide it to the desk top for it to upload onto Facebook. And when I was on the phone with Apple support for about 1 hour, they could not fix the issue, but instead blamed Facebook for the problem. Oh, it's not because they created a software upgrade that made the photo app inoperable with Facebook.

I always thought that software upgrades was to make computer usage more easier rather than more complicated? This issue needs to be fixed immediately by Apple by sending another software upgrade which includes the fix. Why try to fix something that isn't broken! Please Apple, enough with all these useless software updates! Leave your hands off stuff that isn't broken!!

This is also happening to me on my MacBook Air running MacOS Tahoe version 26.5.2. On Facebook. It is very frustrating getting the “No file chosen” message again and again. I reported this to Facebook support but haven’t heard anything back. I also had a very similar thing happen today trying to upload a photo in response to a message on Etsy. I got an error that something went wrong. Tried it again. Nope, still didn’t work. So I switched to my iPad and the same photo uploaded fine to Etsy. I did an earlier test using my iPad to post to Facebook. No problem. My MacBook Air has an Apple M1 chip. I haven’t contacted Apple yet about this.

I was on the phone with Apple for an hour. They can't fix the issue. They need to come out with a fix. The person at Apple told me Facebook needs to send them the codes. When they do, the fix will likely be on the next update...

Experiencing exact same problem posting pics and memes to FB, FB based pages (like Daily Beast) and Truth Garbage from my I MAC desktop (2022) running OS Tahoe 26.5.2. Problem started @ 1 week after I upgraded to Tahoe and persists for the past few weeks. Contacted FB Help multiple times with (as usual) no reply. Somehow ran into a Meta FB Help Page run by "John Smith" and he was very communicative and offered 4 suggestions to troubleshoot with "MAC OS Tahoe File Picker Glitch" sounding like this is the problem but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Thanks to both Donnie Boston and Tessie for your posts as misery loves company! Seriously, I will pass your "Apple says FB needs to send them the codes" and see if they can expedite the required fix. PS. Just messaged John on FB asking for his help getting FB to send codes to Apple.

Until the fix arrives, you can slide any photo from your photo app to your desk top, and they will upload to Facebook with no problem.

Right? These alleged "updates" are killing us all. At least all of our productivity and enjoyment 🙂 How about we demand better from a HOWEVER MANY TRILLION DOLLAR COMPANY THEY ARE!

I now give Apple a not so good report card after I get off the support line with them. Nothing to do with the advisor who are always good... I do it in the writing option they give you at the end of the survey. I also got other lesser glitches that I don't even mention. I just deal with it from all of their other useless and senseless updates.

Thanks! I will try that. FB Meta guy's name who I mentioned is John Smith. Very tech smart but has not specifically said he will have get FB and Apple talking to resolve this problem...yet.

It will eventually get fixed. I'm sure they are getting an onslaught of complaints about it. We'll have to wait and see. Fingers crossed. Remember millions of users use Facebook who also have Apple computers across the country.
