Lot of folks running into problems with the jailbreak installation on Taig 2.1.2.

People have issues at different percentages, re: 20 or 40% but most sound like 60% is where the logjam is and was the case here too.

Setup with Windows Preview 10 and Parallels using iTunes 12.0.1. After finally getting that itunes version loaded and working, the Taig 2.1.2 jailbreak kept hanging at 60%.

After research on other sites, the method which appears to eliminate this problem looks good.

1. Install iTunes 12.0.1 and leave application open during jailbreak.
2. Download Taig 2.1.2 from Taig.com
3. Launch Taig 2.1.2 but double click first and set to "run as administrator"
4. Last, but for many, restore you iPhone to original settings - BUT FIRST BACK UP!

No other prior attempts worked for me but hopefully this will save others hours of time.
Make sure you back up your iPhone PRIOR to doing a restore. Yes, that adds an hour but there was no other way not to for myself and others.

When Taig 2.1.2's application shows it's ready to go, leave OPEN iTunes 12.0.1.

During the jailbreak the first 20% goes smoothly and then it went to 40% for a bit before locking in at the 60% mark. But be patient as the jailbreak will restart the phone maybe once or more before it "continues the jailbreak."

Almost like magic and after about 10 minutes time, the 60% progress bar will all of sudden just jump and Taig will announce you've had a successful jailbreak.

Good luck to everyone!

thanks but i cant even get my iPad to appear using Paralells and the Windows 10 preview. I hear the ding and my iPad is also asking if i am trusting the computer but then it does not appear on iTunes or Taig. When i check the device panel there is a ! and Error Code 10 on the Apple Mobile Device Manger thing.

I HATE WINDOWS damn driver crap

Which version of iTunes are you using? Many suggest the only way to go is with iTunes 12.0.1.

Didn't get that specific error code but you may want to do wide online search with that as one of the terms.
Have come across good information that way to finally restore the settings entirely and then got beyond the 60% installation mark.

still no luck i have tried 3 different VM programs already :-/ VirtualBox says "no USB device connected". Paralells and VM Fusion both recognize the iPad and it charged but itunes doesnt recognize it (already tried 2 different itunes versions as well). Maybe its a El Capitan thing but i am not sure how as its not really related to the VM

I've had zero luck with this piece of **** JB, possibly the worst to be released... ever

You're running a beta version of the OS? Could be at issue, tough to say but we can guess that Taig 2.1.2 was not tested on that platform.

This jailbreak does work but it has some challenges especially since folks need to perform it on Windoze.

how do i install an older itunes software? i keep getting a roll back action message when installing 12.0.1

Why yes, if I had issues with the JB, I'd also be complaining. But this one has been the easiest and quickest yet. One click and wait 3 minutes and done. Prior JBs required a few button presses on the phone during the process.

You can't use the TaiG app in a virtual machine. Also, the best way to go about jailbreaking is to make sure you back up all your stuff ... do a clean Restore ... don't sign in with your Apple ID or anything just go straight to your iOS home screen during the set up. Make sure you have iTunes 12.0.1 installed. Then jailbreak. Fiddle with your iCloud stuff later after everything is jailbroken.

You need to delete any and all things related to Apple in the Add or Remove Programs utility. Anything that says "Apple" next to it, you need to remove. This includes iTunes, Bonjour, the Apple mobility utility ... everything. Once you remove everything that's Apple-related, restart your computer and then install iTunes 12.0.1. If you have the latest version of iTunes installed, it won't downgrade due to all the bits and pieces of iTunes now being completely 64-bit. TaiG is also a 32-bit application, which is why it won't work with the new iTunes, since all the components are now 64-bit.

I never had any stuck issues. I just downgrades iTunes and left my phone alone while it was being jailbroken.
