My Air has 1 TB. It's almost full. Based upon my experience, I think everyone needs at least 1 TB.

I am at 180GB out of 512 on my M4, with a lot of that 180GB being junk I don't need. I probably could have stuck with 256GB.

EDIT - lol, just fund 45GB of my 180GB is Overcast on my MacBook. Time to clean that up.

Does anyone buy a Mac or iPad at Apple Stores these days? They're always on sale at 3rd party retailers. It's weird.
There are some Apple customers that are so loyal to the brand that they will gladly pay more at the apple stores because their beloved trillions dollars corporation needs all the protection possible against us the poor people that want to ruin apple bottom line by saving some money.

That said, its amazing how apple is using these retailers to handle their surplus instead of simply cutting prices at their own stores.

I have a M2 Air with 512 GB that’s only a little over half full. Dunno that everyone needs 1 TB minimum.

I have a M4 Pro with 512GB, here's what I have on my disk:

It's always been photos and video that take space. I, for example, have around 450gb of GoPro video on my computer at the moment and a few photo libraries, but my current one is 170gb.

Thanks for that detailed list. I guess that's interesting, but what does it have to do with anyone else? You're one person who uses xx amount of storage. I need more. Others can use less.

Or they want a BTO spec not sold at retail, or want to use their Apple Card...

I bought the 24GB/1TB M4-Pro MBP for $300 off from Best Buy (2,099) last Black Friday. They haven’t been on that deep of a sale since. Agree that 1TB should be the minimum now.
Microcenter has it $2049.99 now for 14” and Best Buy would price match them. Trouble is sometimes they don’t have the same configs.

Actually, Best Buy has it at $2099 now.

Costco same price plus add'l year of warranty.
Most credit cards offer double warranty (covered by Visa/MC/Discover/AmEx, not the issuing bank) and it's automatic. With Costco, which would kick in at the end of the 3rd year if you bought AppleCare. One catch: If your battery fails after the 3rd year, the credit card/Costco warranty wouldn't cover it regardless.

Reading comprehension helps my friend.

There are exceptions and acceptable reasons, but my comment specifically target those that do think as i described them.

I dont understand why some people seem to have a hard time in leaving their HS debates competition days behind.

I guess we should just add to Amazon's bottom line instead. Big brain thinking!

I guess one could say that this represents the offered "Baseline" lineup . . .

. . . yet "all-time lows across every model of the computer" is not as inclusive as stated.

I purchased a 24G/2TB 13" model Full-Retail earlier this year, yet I don't see this option represented in the AMZN'ian Princess's website . . . 🤷‍♂️

You'll never have a SSD that's large enough for video and photos.

There's always more freedom in using external storage for those.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (I’ve commented on this before): if you are eligible, go to the online AAFES (BX) site and check out the current Apple discounts, including 13” MBA 16/256 $699; 15” MBA 24/512 $1099; 14” MBP 24/512 $1699. Just a few examples, and NO sales tax. If you’re military, retired military, military related w/ AAFES shopping privileges, go to the BX site, fast shipping, no hassles.

Very good discounts. The M4 Air is a great laptop. Recently got the 15" M4 version and I am very satisfied with it.
