Is there an easy program available that will take a picture and store it on my computer everytime I wake it from sleep?

Take a picture of what? Are you wanting the iSight (assuming you have one) to take a picture or are you wanting a screenshot? Sorry mate, you'll have to be more specific. :)

When I open my new mbp with iSight, I want it to take a picture of me. This is just for fun. I have heard of other people doing it and posting their pictures online for theft protection. However, I don't want my pictures online. I want it on my hardrive.

I'm sure it can be done with an Apple script but I don't have enough experience with them to write one for you.

Try isightcapture

isightcapture is a CLI app which will take a picture using your iSight camera as you suggest. I'm not sure how you would automate it so that the app ran whenever the computer woke up, but at least you now have a program that will take the picture for you from the command line.
