I'm finding the iPad very very easy to type on, at least when laying on the bed with my legs bent at the knees.

My score: Between 30 - 38 WPM (took the test a few times)

    On a regular keyboard I can do 55 - 70 WPM.

This thread is useless without a comparison to the speed you type on a regular keyboard.

I don't have a iPad, but I only get 50 wpm with my full size keyboard on that test.

Though I likely lose more time moving from mouse to keyboard -mouse...

If I get an iPad, I will go without a keyboard. OSK would be plenty for any use I want to do with it.

    Getting about 56-66 wpm :)
But I notice in Pages, i tend to accidentally hit the text area alot and it messes up what I'm writing.

My physical keyboard typing is about 60-68

I just got the Apple case so I decided to try the test with the iPad propped up a bit. My average score over 3 tries was 47wpm. I can do about 70 on a normal keyboard.

One issue I seem to be having so far when trying to speed type is that when I hit a key with my pinky fingers, I tend to use my nail to make contact, which doesn't always work.

117 WPM on a regular keyboard.

I'm getting roughly 40 WPM with the iPad but with errors :( I'm not used to it yet.

    52 WPM on the iPhone.

I average 100-125 on a regular keyboard and on my iPad I ranged from 50-80. Not bad. I'm getting better with it. Anything over 50wpm on it, at this point, I'd say is pretty solid.

This isn't a very good test, you only type out one sentence which is not a large enough sample size.

mbp test was a 75... actual one minute typing test though not a one sentence one.

ipad test was 60-65 that is much less drop off than I thought there would be.

How are you guys typing so fast? I'm a decent touch typist on a normal keyboard, but I'm reduced to hunting and pecking at around 20 wpm on the iPhone/iPad.
