I was talking to a friend of mine who has the 2GB data plan for his iphone and i was saying how i am going to cut oneof my lines of next weeks and pay the ETF.

He offered me $150 and said i wouldn't have to pay an ETF

What i would do is transfer liability to him, and he could take over the iPhone unlimited plan by adding it to his account.

I have a few questions,

1st. Can i transfer just 1 line off of my family plan?

2nd. Will he be able to keep the unlimited portion of the plan?

Thanks

I think that you'll need to call AT&T and ask them. I'm not even sure that this is possible.

When I got my own plan I basically took my number off of a family plan and created my own. I got to keep my unlimited as well. So I assume it would be the same for you.

I did this also, but that was 3 or so years ago. You should definitely be able to transfer one line to him (pending credit check), but I dont know if he will be able to keep the unlimited data.

I had the 2gb data plan and when I switched off a family plan they wouldn't let me keep it so I had to go with the 3gb data plan.

You can actually transfer the line and the liability to your friend but he won't be able to keep your unlimited.
