Hi,

I have searched the forums but cannot find anything which helps me.

I have a movie, from which I would like to extract a still to make a photograph. Is this something I can do in iMovie or do I need a 3rd party app? (If so which one?)

Thanks.

Also VLC Player has the option of taking snapshots of a video file.

Play your movie on a window 1:1 scale, and then use shift+cmd+4, you will get a crosshair to choose the are of your screenshot 🙂

you can use VLC as mentioned but if your going to make a photograph out of it its not going to look good. most video is about 720x480 res and a good photograph is much higher ( depending on size ) don't expect to make a high quality poster or anything with this.
