Taking calls on the iPhone 6 Plus

Is it awkward?
I've been back and forth on considering the 6 or the 6+. It may seem like a relatively small concern, but considering it's size, I have to wonder how comfortable the 6+ is when taking phone calls.
Can anyone reflect on this?

I always used speaker phone on my iPhone 5 just because I hate holding any phone up to my head during a call and continue to do the same thing with the 6+

iPhone plus, using it for about a week.

I don't think it's awkward, but comfortable? that depends, I have been trying to use it one handed a lot and it's causing me some odd pains in my thumb and pinky. So overall I'm not finding it comfortable at all the way I'm using it.

I am using it one handed, and really stretching, so that's just my take.

Also been using it a lot, but I made up my mind now to buy the 4.7 inch 6 next year, hopefully it will get the optical stabilization.
