Taking photo in message app issues

Me and my girlfriend have a 6 and 6 plus on 8.1. When choosing to take new pic in the message app, it works fine the first time. If you attempt to take another in the same way we just get black screens. Like the shutter doesn't open. The camera flip switch doesn't switch cameras either. I'm glad I can add existing pics now after it not working and crashing every time on 8.0.2 but now this is happening. Anyone else having this issue?

I am having this same issue. I have to shut down the messages app by double clicking the home button and flicking the app up. Then it works the first time but try to use camera a second time and all I get is black screen.

I am on 8.1.1.

I'm on 8.1.3 and still have the issue. Smh.
