So tomorrow I'm selling my iPad Air and decided I'd like to get the 128gb 12.9 inch iPad Pro with cellular. I'm planning on setting it up with my AT&T plan.

I've looked on craigslist etc and seen that I can nab someones slightly used one for around 700 to 750, but I'm taking a look at my options of new ones. I think I'd like to get Apple Care on it (I think it would cost a fortune to replace the screen if anything happened to it, so in this case I think it's worth it.)

I've read about deals that have gone on for that model that have been great from Best Buy, target, and Staples. I'm just wondering if theres any good ones going on now or I if I have to wait until memorial day weekend. I'm planning on camping that weekend so won't be able to scour for deals.

From what I understand my best bet for accessories is on eBay from people who decided they don't actually want a pencil or keyboard.

I'm just super excited about getting it and want it sooner than later!

Ebay Link

Also Best Buy has it on sale this week for $q00 off and Bhphoto had it for sale and you can avoid the tax if you're not from New York if I'm not mistaken..

Also, AppleCare is definitely worth it, screen repair is $599 the last time I checked..

Thanks for the link! Can I get apple care with that eBay deal? Not a big fan of the gold, but the price is pretty golden.

I'm in New Hampshire, so I don't don't have to pay sales tax anywhere luckily.

That's a good question of which I don't really know the answer. Maybe someone else can shed some more light, i would think you could but it's better knowing before taking the plunge. Good luck though! I switched from an iPad Air 2 about a month ago and I LOVE it. I got the same exact model you'd like. No complaints!

How much did you get for your Air? I've been trying to sell mine on CL and the only bites I get are from the scammers.

Jeff

I got $475 with a belkin keyboard case and the 75 dollar adonit stylus. I was selling the 128gb with AT&T data. Lately I've been selling all my tech through the yardsale apps that have popped up through iphone, and I'm finding good inquiries there so give it a shot.

I can't help you with deals, but if you have ATT and you have their insurance, the screen replacement is $149 then $199 if you to do it again within 6 months (may be a little higher one the pro, but it's worth checking into). There's a declining deductible on it, so if you don't make a claim for 6 months it drops. I've used the insurance quite a few times with several young adults on my plan.

I pay $20 a month and it covers all 7 devices on our plan; I think one device is $7.

I took the plunge 2 days ago, found a great deal on CL from a guy who from the very beginning seemed very nice, you can quickly tell if a person on CL is a scammer or not, this guy also had Proof of Purchase which made me feel a little more secure.

This guy lost his receipt but it has a clean ESN. He can show me on Verizons website that he doesn't owe any money on it. It's not opened and when I entered the serial on apples support site it told me to "validate your product's purchase date."

any idea what it means and if it's legitimate? If I can add apple care? The guy is making 800 which is a fair price for the 128gb data model.

Did he buy it from Apple? Because in that case, then Apple could help him get the receipt, all he would need to do is call them and have them email it to him. That way you would also get a purchase date.

He didn't, but he said he will meet me at either a verizon store, apple store, or AT&T store to confirm everything and get me set up. Sounds fully legit in this case.

If he didn't purchase it through Apple, then that could explain why you got the "validate your product's purchase date." message.

I agree, he does sound like a legit person. Hopefully it works out for you.
