Hi,

I'm a new Mac convert. I installed few Unicode Tamil fonts on my Mac (OSX Snow Leopard). While typing tamil content in any editor, only Inaimathi font that comes along with the OS displays properly. Any other font that I installed doesn't display properly.

I've attached the screenshot taken from TextEdit so that you can see what I mean.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

- Mouli

Tamil Fonts

Mac and Windows use different technologies for complex scripts like Tamil. You cannot use Unicode opentype fonts you download off the internet, but only Unicode aat fonts that come with OS X or are available from 3rd parties like

Best to use the Apple discussion forums for questions about languages and unicode.

Thanks for your reply. I also saw a similar comment in the xenotypetech website.

Thanks for sharing it.
