So on my new Neo I noticed a strange issue. I like to use tap to click and what I noticed is it's slow to respond. Like a second lag compared to click to tap where it's instant. My MacBook Air 15 doesn't do this and all Windows laptops I've ever owned don't do this.

So just wondering, is this a flaw or done on purpose?

Pretty annoying.

EDIT: It looks like it goes away when I disable "Use trackpad for dragging". Whenever this is enabled the lag re-appears.

That doesn't sound like normal behavior. I don't have a Neo so I don't no but I read these forums a lot and you are the first to bring up this as an issue?

I would recommend you try going into Apple recovery and wiping the drive and reinstalling MacOS and see if you still have the same issue? Maybe call Apple support first and wait to see what others say. However there shouldn't be a 1 second lag. That would be a problem for anyone.

Hope you get things resolved satisfactorily!!

Just for reference I have an MBA and Windows laptop with mechanical trackpad.

Thanks a lot.

Whoa, I never noticed that before! Because I've had Tap-to-Drag (with Drag Lock) enabled since I started using Mac OS X in 2001, I never knew that Tap-to-Click was faster if you didn't also have that enabled. Doing some tests on my 2015 MacBook Pro running Sequoia, the difference only appears to be a fraction of a second though, not a full second, and it's barely noticeable. So maybe that's something new in Tahoe? Or have you used Tahoe on your MacBook Air already and it was more responsive there?
