There will be tons of Apps for the iWatch that will be add supported. They are already being designed. Why would it be any different than the iPhone?? In fact I think it will be worse because instead of banner ads etc. because of screen real estate all the ad placements I've seen will pop up full screen for a bit.

Get used to it!

I don't think the marketeers are that stupid and do what you suggested. They don't want to piss people off because that would be counter productive. On the phone, you see a banner ads, and occasionally an annoying pop-up. But for the most part you can view your content. The ads takes up less than 10% of the screen.

I expect the same for the iWatch. Ads will most likely be a logo and at most a few words, like a haiku.

http://appleinsider.com/articles/15...ts-apple-watch-ad-platform-may-not-fly-at-all

"One day after TapSense unveiled its new ad platform aimed at Apple Watch, the firm has clarified that it will not be able to integrate with Apple Pay, won't be able to inject ads into watch faces, and that under Apple's development guidelines it potentially won't be allowed to push ads to the watch at all."

So this is a complete stunt by sketchy company.

and that's different from the phone you are carrying?

I don't want ads on the watch either. I don't want to read an ad to check the time.
But don't kid yourself about walking around with ads at present.

The article mentioned ad wallpapers. Yuck. That's way different than having a tiny banner in the corner of your screen while using an app. I usually pay to disable those or use a paid app that doesn't have ads.

The Apple Watch display does not extend to the edges as illustrated!

It would be fantastic if it actually did. I might be more interested in buying one. For now my butt is firmly planted on this fence.

QFT.

The announcement struck me as sketchy when it was first made - with as cautious as Apple has been with push notifications on the much larger/more powerful phone over the years, there was no way they were going to allow a random ad company to push ads to it. At *BEST* (and by "best," I mean "best for the ad company,") it is a third-party ad-provider for when you are INSIDE watch-apps.

Say you load up Runkeeper on your Apple Watch - this third-party ad agency might be the one serving that Wheaties ad that shows before the Runkeeper app fully loads. Something the app developer could do themselves, if they really wanted.

Annoying, yes, but not vital to the Apple Watch experience, so you can just choose to not load Runkeeper (for example - I have no idea if Runkeeper would do this or not, just a watch app I know of from Pebble.)

So each time I raise my arm for time, i have to wait 5 seconds before clicking the "Skip Ads".

Now wearing a iWatch is always 5 seconds behind the others (or more due to network). :apple:

Can we start using an upside down Apple icon?

So now that we know this company was talking BS are the people who said they'll never buy the watch because of ads going to reconsider? Or are they going to find another non-problem the watch will have?

So where's MacRumors follow up story or update to this story? Why did they run with this in the first place as it clearly was sketchy and certainly not anything sanctioned by Apple.

****** YOU advertising departments. My watch is not real estate you get to occupy. No ads on my watch, not now, not ever. Any app that connects with the watch and displays ads on it will be immediately 86'ed out of my life and I'll be leaving a nasty review of the app on the app store. The watch has limited battery life, and a watch is personal space beyond a phone. DO NOT CROSS THE LINE.

Brian Buttplug what on Earth does po^H^H mean? Is that some form of chemical formula like:

Example A

If pH= 6.1 and pOH=14-pH pOH=14-6.1=7.9

snip...
If pOH= 3.09 and pH=14-pOH pH=14-3.09=10.91

[H+]=10-pH so [H+]=10-10.91 [H+]=1.2x10-11M

Col4bin, 2 points for trying ;)

Now .. in the old days - and I might get a bit nostalgic here - there was something called VT100 terminals.
^H (CTRL-H) was used to delete characters.

Maybe my post makes sense now?

Cheers

-Brian
