Taptrix/Steve Sprang - what happened to them?

Does anyone out there know what happened to Taptrix and developer Steve Sprang? This company is responsible for two highly regarded apps - Brushes and Inkpad - but there's been no sign of any activity from them since fall 2011, when updates for the apps were released. There seems to be no sign of activity on Sprang's personal Twitter page or web page, either. Some users are actually getting a little concerned ... does anyone know if he's OK?
