Friends i am using iMac 27” mid 2011 3.1 GHz i5, i am trying to connect my windows laptop with imac via thunderbolt cable so that i can get big monitor for my windows, but target display mode is not activating, please help me

Apple's TDM instructions only supports Macs and certain macOS. It specifically states that it does not support Windows.

Some older Mac models can use older iMac models as an external display.
