I have just recently bought an iMac 27" and purchased ableton live and i am trying to connect a tascam us 122 audio interface. I have the latest drivers for tascam (3.4) but still in my tascam manager it says (not available) not sure why this is? also ableton doesn't even acknowledge that tascam is there, I go into preferences, audio and set my sound to coreaudio and then try to choose tascam in the output drop menu but my tascam doesn't come up at all, as if it's not even there. the USB and midi output lights are on, on the tascam. so I am really confused and I have recently converted from windows to Mac os, so I really have no idea what I'm doing! really could use some advice/help! anything will be appreciated!! thanks!

    Powered USB Hub

I read that a powered usb hub can help this problem? does it have to be powered? i am assuming so because i have a USB hub that requires to be plugged into the wall socket.
If there is anything else anyone knows about this problem please let me know!
