I was scrolling down my AT&T bill this morning and noticed that the watch, which is billed at $10/month, had a total charge of $15.45. Comparing several phones on the same bill, I noted that the taxes and fees run approximately $6 vs. $5.45 on the watch, or $72 annually for a phone vs $65 for a watch. That seems like a lot of taxes and fees for limited use of the watch LTE compared to the phone. I might have to reconsider using cell service on the watch the next time I upgrade. $15.45/month translates to $185.40 annually. That would virtually pay for a new watch (w/o LTE) every 2 years. Or we could get rid of the 65% tax rate on the Apple Watch.......

I pay 8.50 a month for watch (military discount) and 2.38 in taxes. Verizon.

That sounds much better! Verizon isn't very good in my area so am stuck with AT&T. I don't mind the $10.00, but would really like to have your taxes/fees.

Yeah. The price is high. I have also noticed at work and at the gym wifi is reliable enough for me around the entirety of both buildings that I barely ever need cell service on my watch. It really is nice to be able to be away from my phone but still connected to the internet and everything still works (which is does on wifi no problem). The rare time I'm out and about without my phone it's been nice but hardly essential and probably not worth $15/month. I kind of wish I had saved my money and just gotten the non-cell version. I'm at the point I'm considering getting rid of cell service.
