Is there an adapter from Thunderbolt 3 to Firewire?
I know Apple has an adapter from TB3 to TB2 and another from TB2 to FW, but I would like to use a single adapter, not chain two.
(In my specific case it would be for an iMac 2020 to which I intend to hook my Nikon scanner that has only Firewire.)

No demand...

Does the device driver for your Nikon scanner updated for 2022 macOS Ventura?

Dont know. But that is not so important, I intend to use it with Win10.
FWIW it is the Nikon SUPER COOLSCAN 4000 ED (LS-4000 ED).

You can use the Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter, in conjunction with Apple’s Thunderbolt to FireWire 800 adapter. I haven’t tested this combination with Windows but it does work in macOS.

To add to what chrfr said in reply 5 above...

If you're going to use both of these adapters, I'd suggest looking for slightly used ones on ebay.
Could cut down the cost by perhaps 50%...

Is FW still recognized by Win10?

In another computer I have a FW card and run it in Win 8.1.
MS abandoned FW in Win10 but it is said that Win 8 drivers will work under Win 10. If not, I will use 8.1 on the iMac too.

Btw, what about those TB2 to TB3 adapters from China (Aliexpress, etc.)? They are cheap but most of them are describe as unidirectional. What does that mean?
