Hi,

If this has been asked before just point me in the right direction. My search did not come up with such an adapter. I am looking for an adapter that can do all 3 so I can ensure that I can handle anything I run into when speaking.

I currently have such an adapter for Display Port 1.2, but I looking to upgrade to the new, USBC/TB3 only MBPs.

Here is an example of one that I found...I don't own it, however.

Has anyone bought one of these adapters and had it work for the new mid 2018 MacBook Pros.

I just ordered two dual HDMI/VGA adapters from Amazon that claim to be Thunderbolt 3 compatible. They were delivered and when I tried them, neither allowed me to see the second monitor.

For one of them:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078JJ4TJ8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My MacBook (i9/32GB/2TB SSD) sees the display as connected within the Displays System Preferences pane but the monitor does not display an image.

For the other:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MRE92OO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the monitor shows no image AND the Displays preference pane does not recognize that the monitor is plugged in at all.

I am using these for their VGA connectivity and not for HDMI.

I tried all of the USB C sockets and none work.

Anyone with advice or a product recommendation for something that does work for the new Powerbooks?

No responses to my post but I have tracked down some display adapters that work with my mid-2018 MacBook Pro (i9/32GB/2TB SSD). These were all obtained from Amazon in the US.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075RTTFDJ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Dual HDMI

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076F5JKSQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 VGA

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0768RFQ83/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 DVI

The Apple VGA adapter works as well but is quite expensive. The second and third items above are under $20 but they are single purpose adapters. They all end in Thunderbolt 3 connectors.

I guess the two items I got initially need a refresh to work with the 2018 Powerbooks. These are going back to Amazon for a refund.
