Hi,
Looking to replace my G-Drive unit with a TC. What I want to know before moving forward with my purchase, will the TC allow me to partition the HD in two partitions enabling me to use one for time machine & the other as a secondary HD?
 
Nope.
You could (theoretically) partition the drive with a Mac (using USB enclosure).
Or you can create 2nd volume by connecting a USB-drive.
