I've been a loyal tech21 customer since the iPhone 6 but they've lost me as a customer due to terrible customer service and even worse communication. So...I'm on the search for a new cast for my Jet Black 7 Plus. I like the cases that have the shock absorption in the perimeter. I've been using a BodyGuardz but...just don't like it. Any other suggestions for a minimalist case that offers good drop protection?

If the product still does exactly what you want, just suck up your pride and buy one. All you're doing is hurting yourself, the company doesn't care if you do or don't buy them.

Yeah, that's the put on your big boy drawers thing to do, but working in customer service for all my life...I...just can't.

Tech21 used to use D3O in its cases for impact protection, but then either lost the licensing for it, or decided their in-hour product FlexShock was simply better, because they now design their cases exclusively with FlexShock for impact protection. However, there is now another case manufacturer making cases with D3O: a British company called Gear4. Gear4 apparently has the licencing for D3O now, and they are putting out some cases that are quite similar to the Tech21 cases--TPU cases with a ring of impact protecting D3O gel around the sides. Interestingly, the D3O no longer has to be orange--Gear4 has it dyed to all kinds of colors. I just got some review samples of the Gear4 cases for the 7 Plus, and I'll be doing my reviews soon. So far, they look really great: slim, with 9 feet of drop protection.
