    Hell, I even have black and white turned on so the grey bar doesn't bother me as much.

    Why should I even have to turn on RT for a year old device?IsmApple really this incompetent at software optimisation

    I think we're looking at a combination of hardware power with Apple putting too many effects in there. We don't need transparency, we don't need motion effects, and we don't need blur. I'd be happier with 60fps everywhere.

    Maybe they're getting iOS 10 ready and it will be a different interface that performs better, and they don't care what iOS9 looks like.

    Maybe in iOS 10 we would have turn everything off to make it stutter less.

    I really hope that's the case, intensely dislike animations.
