While we wait for season 2 to start in 9 days, there's a good New York Times interview with Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Bill Lawrence today. I learned that Jason and Brendan used to do improv together.

Just to resurrect this thread, the first episode of the sophomore episode felt a bit off, but last night's "Lavender" episode felt just right.

I certainly didn't expect Roy's retirement speech to be both so embarrassing and create... um, that sort of reaction from Keeley. I particularly love Roy's interaction with the kids.

Jamie is back, but I got too distracted by his eye brows. Is that a reference t Bert and Earnie?

Doctor Sharon and Ted's interactions are setting up for the season's mental health theme. The Prince of Tides reference and how hard Ted's dad was to himself are particularly telling.

How would you say the first episode felt a bit off? I’m curious.

I think I’ve had more "laugh out loud" moments in these two episodes than during the last season (and it didn’t then to be great either). The season is off to a good start in my book.

Finally started watching Ted last week and have to say I’ve been pleasantly surprised how good it is. We’ve watched all of season one in one go.

Probably just me but I'm having more problems understanding some of the British accents this season.

It’s not that I didn’t enjoy that season premier episode. It just felt oddly very different, almost like a reunion episode. It’s probably just Roy leaving the team, Richmond no longer on the Premier League, and many of the characters having evolved from the first season.

Ah ok, I see what you mean. Do you watch For All Mankind? I had that feeling for most of season 2 as a lot happens between the two seasons…

Happy Ted Lasso night! Just watched season 2 episode 3, and all I can say is "sharing an iCloud account"??? Coach Beard, not even for love, dude, don't do it. 😂

Next week he will have cancelled the account in light of the "photo scanning to find child porn" fiasco...

I wonder who AFC Richmond will be playing in episode 4? My guess is QPR.
The only thing I’ve not enjoyed in Ted so far is Chris Powell & Arlo White’s wooden performances as occasional commentary team. Thankfully their appearances are fleeting.

An X-Mas episode in August? Seriously? X-Mas episodes are always bad, but doing them in August is a new kind of bad.

This Christmas episode came completely out of nowhere. Was this season released earlier then expected? Still a cute episode, but very strange.

My guess is because the show is based on a football season, ending in May, that the Boxing Day game has to come early in the season to make sense.

Weird timing in real life, but I enjoyed it.

Guess I don't understand the objections about a Christmas episode, which I haven't watched yet. Is there some unwritten rule that any series can only release a holiday episode to match the same season in real life? I'm stumped why some feel this is a thing ... With all this hot weather lately, maybe some winter scenes are just what we need.

Just unexpected and doesn’t do much to move the story along… like nearly all other Christmas episodes in a tv show.

Regardless, it was an enjoyable episode.

I may be the only one feeling this way with season 2 but, thus far, I haven't found the episodes as cohesive and entertaining as season 1. I am getting the sense that the writers are trying to do too much and as a result, I have found character development in season 2 to be lacking. All we get are glimpses here and there (outside of Ted and the boss) and the story line hasn't been drawing me in like it did in season 1.

But, but ... do you BELIEVE?
