The third season of popular comedy series "Ted Lasso" is now available to watch on Apple TV+ for those who are subscribed to Apple's streaming service. Season three could be the final season of the show, which tells the story of an American football coach who moves to the UK to oversee the AFC Richmond football club.

"Ted Lasso" is one of Apple's most popular shows, and the first two seasons have been widely praised. Actor Jason Sudeikis, who plays Ted Lasso, has won a Golden Globe for his performance, while the show itself won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

In the third season, Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond will face off against West Ham United, where former AFC Richmond assistant coach Nate Shelley has defected. AFC Richmond must prove that it won't come in dead last in the Premier League, contrary to media speculation.

Apple is heavily promoting the third season of "Ted Lasso," partnering with Nike for a whole range of AFC Richmond jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. There's also a promotional "Biscuits with the Boss" Ted Lasso ice cream flavor available from Jeni's, which features shortbread cookie pieces in a sweet cream base. The official Ted Lasso store also sells everything from hats and shirts to phone cases, dartboards, and socks. There's even a Ted Lasso Monopoly game available for preorder.

The first episode of season three is available starting today, with the second episode set to come out on March 22. Apple will be releasing one episode per week, and the season features 12 total episodes.

Sudeikis in early March told media news site Deadline that season three marks the "end of the story" of Ted Lasso, but there is potential for a spinoff. Apple has not confirmed that the show is ending after the third season.

Ted Lasso is such hokey show. There's Severance which is absolutely amazing and MacRumors never talks about it. WHY???
What are they meant to talk about? There’s no new season out, nor any news about the new season that I’m aware of. On top of that, Ted Lasso has a much broader appeal than Severance.

I love both shows, but it’s pretty obvious why the bigger show gets talked about more.

I didn't waste time watching S03E01 today. While I think the show is good and seems to be a big hit, I think it could fare just as well without all the swearing dialogue all the time. Shrinking has the same problem with the dialogue. I find it's overuse gets to be distracting.
If Roy Kent was unable to say “F**k” the show would not be as hilarious.

Also, the headline of this article is a little misleading- the third season is not available- the first episode is. The article doesn’t mention that until the second last paragraph. Not that most people don’t already know that Apple doesn’t release entire seasons at once, but the headline should’ve read something like “Season 3 premiere of Ted Lasso now available on Apple TV+”.

This drip-feed weekly episode model is outdated.

Binge-watching at home has become one of life's guilty pleasures, so why frustrate it? If you don't want to indulge, then at least you have that choice. Ted Lasso is perfect binge-watching content. Not taxing, not really thought-provoking, just entertaining.

Only reason is to string out the promotion as far as possible. But hey Tim, it's not the 80s and 90s...nobody talks to their remote-working colleagues about a TV show by the non-existent water cooler in deserted offices anymore.

Not just Apple of course, same goes for Mandalorian on Disney+

I hate the week to week model, but Netflix is the only service nowadays dropping whole seasons AFAIK. HBO, Disney, Prime, Showtime, Paramount etc all make us wait. People working remotely or not, the fact is that if a show is released weekly it gets attention over a longer period of time with online discussion thus keeping it in the zeigeist for longer. Netflix shows will drop a whole season, most people binge it and then it barely gets mentioned after a couple weeks.

Stretching it out week by week helps make the show more of a cultural phenomenon (something to talk about with friends/coworkers/etc every week), but also increases the chances that you'll stumble onto other shows on their streaming service in that time and be less likely to cancel your subscription the second the last episode ends. It's all about that recurring revenue.

Why don't I like the "Ted Lasso" show? I tried the first episode out of curiosity. However, I have not watched "TV" in thirty years. Not a fan of "Hollywood" stuff.
Well, it’s mostly shot in England I believe, not Hollywood. But if you aren’t watching tv, you aren’t watching tv. If you do go and try to finish the first season, i don’t think you will be disappointed. It’s a great show that focuses its comedy and storylines around positivity, instead of negativity… which is all too common these days. Anyway, as someone who actually works in Hollywood making tv shows, may I ask what it is you don’t like about our product?

Talk about bad luck. You manage to go 30 years without watching TV, and then the TV show with which you break your impressive steak of abstinence is one that you don't like. ;)
