Seconded the “banned”, but from the point of view of: shouldn’t that user be jailed?

They've definitely broken multiple laws, but I'm assuming they didn't sign up with their real details and were doing it being a VPN or proxy so were well hidden.

I don’t see a single comment suggesting that Apple allow animated pornography on the App Store…
Right? People just run with the “think of the Kids” heart string argument without thinking about a single principle or issue with setting a certain precedent. They don’t see the bigger picture

I want VK you damn Apple. I bought this stratospheric expensive machine, with my own money, it's mine and I want to install anything I want on it!!!!

So, I guess you somehow missed every government in the world crying out about how encrypted services are used for crime...
Surprisingly enough, yes, I have absolutely heard about that. But Telegram isn't even E2E encrypted by default from my understanding, and Telegram is far from the only encrypted chat service--Signal and Apple Messages both use E2E encryption yet neither seems, at least superficially, anywhere near as popular among scammers as Telegram.

Then again, I may have answered my own question in noting that Telegram is extremely popular in Russia and India, while Signal as far as I know isn't, and Messages requires both you and your target to be iPhone users. Perhaps its popularity with scammers is just based on its popularity in the places where the scam organizations are based.
