That's what I thought too, until someone sent me an video message. Not a video, but a video message...
I'm confused. What's a video message outside just being a video with a message exclusive to the person you're sending it to?

Right... so you know how you hold a button, speak your message and then release it to send? So this is identical, but it's little video bubble. Sure, you can record a video and then attach it to a message, but that takes a whole nother level dedication imho))

Ahh I understand now. An even more bloated messaging concept, now with video!

Call me old fashioned but I still feel the 10 seconds it takes to type a message is infinitely better than recording a voice clip or video clip. Though I have used voice clips sparingly with certain people, the less intrusive text message remains supreme, unless you need immediate communication, in which case: just dial them and talk. 😂

I hardly ever use voice memos, but video memos are different for me. It's a far better way to connect with friends who are far away. Texting just doesn't cut it for me.

When will a Teiegram update bring a feature that stops unknown people from adding me to spam groups?
This feature have been in the App since forever
Settings > Privacy and Security > Group & Channels > Who can add me

I stick to just two messaging apps...
  1. Apple Messages for family - we're all on iOS, it's granular, and I can prioritise their messages in any Focus modes.
  2. Telegram for my close friends and people in tech.
If someone thinks WhatsApp's a 'good app' then we don't have anything to discuss. It's a lowest common denominator app that's designed to work on the most outdated, underpowered handsets on earth. Nothing about it is optimised for user experience.

Apparently Signal's particularly robust in terms of encryption, but I don't have a use case for that right now.
It used to be you could get all your android friends/family to just use signal as default sms and not have to think about it, but they killed that off. I still don't understand how so many people think whatsapp/telegram is private.

So are we all gonna conveniently forget that a recent update deleted the Apple Watch app for Telegram? Nobody ever released an article about its disappearance and it still hasn’t been restored yet. Kind of ridiculous for all developers to still be ditching their Apple Watch apps at this point.

Already gone since the previous update.
