this sounds like one of the coolest apps yet but i just wondering how convienient it actually is. when would be an ideal time to use this app. probably when you are away from home nowhere near your computer. i obviously realize that this will not work when your mac is off but what about in sleep mode?

say for example i am at work and i want to use teleport can it turn on my mac. or at the very least wake it from sleep?

If your computer is hard wired to Ethernet, you can use "sleep over" to wake it up... then use teleport to connect.

Sleep over is an iPhone app that sends a packet that will wake your computer. It will only work if you physically have an ethernet cord connected from your router to your computer. It will not work over wireless. I have read where people claimed to have done it, but I have yet to see any instructions or proof on how it is done. I have it, but have not been able to get it to work over wireless.

Sounds like you are wireless, so it will obviously not work. Your only other option is to go to energy savings and prevent the computer from sleeping.

Well, I'm trying out the lite version right now and I'm able to wakemy MBP from sleep. I just could not log in from my screen saver because the lite version does not support keyboard inputs. Otherwise, it seems to be able to wake my computer from sleep.

I'll suggest downloading the lite version since it's free and try it out to see if it can wake your MBP from sleep.
