just curious...🙂

1- where did you place it on your screen ?

2- auto-hide or not?

3-magnification or not?

For a long time I had it tiny with a bit of magnification on the left, now I have it on the bottom right (horizontal) at a small size without magnification.

bottom, auto-hidden, slight magnification. I need the extra screen space on my MBP, disabling auto-hide just doesn't seem like a good option.

Well as for me it's

bottom
no auto hide
2D view
slight magnification

I was thinking to put auto-hide but sometimes I feel like it lags for a couple of seconds

Bottom,
No Auto-Hide except when I use Final Cut Express, where screen real-estate matters,
Magnification about 2x bigger than my dock which is reasonably small,
3d,
4 stacks.

You're not going to sell this information to 3rd parties are you!? 😛

Left Side Vertical (actually miss the 3D look from the Leopard Beta), small as possible, magnification to about 3x that size, no autohide

How about I show..?

Auto-hide off. Slight magnification. Bottom placement.

thanks for your replies. In fact i see many screenshots of OS X desktop with the dock on the side and i was wondering if this was really common.

Obviously its not...

(...and no i wont share this with 3rd parties. 🙂 )

I have it at the bottom with slight magnification and auto-hide since it's a 12.1" screen. When I get my iMac after exams I doubt I'll auto-hide it.

Boy did I read this thread title wrong. 😱

"Tell me about your ____" 😱 well that's very forward! 😀

bottom center, no hiding, no magnification.

I find myself changing.

Visually I like it on the bottom, the 3d look is good, but its just not practical there with the widescreen aspect ratio..

Thats, why i generally have it on the left, as it makes more sense taking up a little of my 1440 pixels, rather than the 900 i have vertically.

- no auto hide, and a little magnification (it makes it that little bit more stylish lol)

BTW, how do people have the dock position on the bottom, but to the side? ive seen it in a few "post your ________" threads..

1. After a bit of experiment I have found comfort in leaving it at the bottom.

2. turned off auto-hide just because i like to see what is running and the lack of actual full screen outside of Opera makes it kinda pointless.

3. i turned magnification off as it tends to mess with the functionality of stacks.

I leave it at the bottom, because I have a wide screen, and can fit more applications in my Dock that way.

My preference for magnification is off. However, auto-hide's the weirdest one of the bunch. On my PowerPC iMac running Tiger, I set it to auto-hide because of some Classic apps I run that don't respect the Dock. On my MBP running Leopard though, I have auto-hide turned off.
